Synopsis

Between 1950 and 1971, Jean Béliveau was one of the greatest hockey players of his era. Gentleman, businessman, gentle giant, captain, star, husband and father, his story is also one of Quebec-Montreal rivalry. It’s the story of Quebec during the Quiet Revolution, of the French Canadians taking power, of hockey as it modernised, of players asserting themselves against league officials and of the ‘making’ of a national hero. The series tells the story of his life since his eventful transition from the Quebec Aces to the Montreal Canadiens. Under the banner of loyalty, respect, uprightness, resilience and an incredible ability to adapt, the series presents, in five episodes, the learning path taken by this ‘big’ boy from Victoriaville.
