Autism and Youth is a documentary series that takes us into the lives of seven autistic youngsters aged between 15 and 21 years old and their family. Over a couple of months, we follow their journey into adult life with all the emotional challenges and learning it entails. We share their dreams, their projects, their successes, as well as their setbacks and the disappointments they encounter. The series of 10 episodes opens our eyes on the autism spectrum and all its complexity, because there are as many autism forms as there are autistic people. The lives of these young people and their loved ones are presented in parallel and echoes with the moving testimonies of their parents, including a few famous personalities like Charles Lafortune, Mathieu Gratton and Sophie Prégent who talk about their quest, questionings and concerns about the future of their child and their efforts to move things forward. Autism and Youth is more than a series on the other’s differences, it’s a path towards understanding and acceptance through moving, intimate and authentic stories. It’s a great and beautiful adventure who brings into the forefront feelings and experience. For people who want to see the world through other people’s eyes: this series offers great point of view and leaves nobody indifferent.
